Matthew Szewczyk

Matthew Szewczyk is a genre-agnostic filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He has directed episodes for Funny or Die, commercials for brands such as Uber and Ripley's Believe It or Not, and music videos for numerous artists. He won best director at the 2015 Studio City International Film Festival for his surveillance thriller THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD and his music video for Brooklyn punk band, Honduras, was nominated for Los Angeles Music Video Award. He began his career working in development on Steve McQueen's abandoned Fela Kuti biopic, a foundational experience "better than film school." In his spare time, he is a less-than avid fisherman and an amateur scholar of apocalyptic religions and commercial airline disasters.
