Aleksandr Spilevoj - director, playwright, theatre and film actor, theatre educator. He was born on November 13, 1987, in Panevezys, Lithuania. Aleksandr studied music technologies in Kaunas University of Technology, later he earned a bachelor's (2013) and a master's (2019) degrees in acting from Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA), where he is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in theatre directing. Aleksandr worked as an actor, playwright and director in the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre, Russian Drama Theatre of Lithuania, Arts Printing House. Currently Aleksandr holds the position of artistic director of Juozas Miltinis' Drama Theatre, also he is the head of the theater-art laboratory "Alchemy of Art", which he founded, works at the Kaunas University of Technology theatre studio "44". Aleksandr Spilevoj's debut play "Unlearned Lessons" ("Neismoktos pamokos") in 2016 won "Open Space" competition in Arts Printing House, entered one of the most prestigious Russian festivals of contemporary drama "Liubimovka" program (shortlist), won the Dalia Tamuleviciute Competition for Lithuanian Authors of Performing Works of Art. In 2017 his own directed performance based on this play was nominated for the greatest Lithuanian theatre award "Golden Stage Cross" in the category "Theater +". In 2018 Aleksandr Spilevoj has been awarded with the Young Artist Award from Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and in 2019 he has been awarded with "Golden Stage Cross" for the written piece of his own directed performance "Almshouse" ("Bagadelnia") by Siauliai State Drama Theater.
