Iver Lofving was born in NYC, and moved to Westchester County, NY where he grew up. He went to Syracuse and rowed crew there, then transferred to Alfred University. Upon graduation he moved to NYC and then joined the Peace Corps and lived in Guatemala for 2 years. He then moved from NY state to Vermont and eventually to Maine where he has lived for 30 years. He helps Nelson Cole with film projects including one, The Music of the Sugarbush that was shown at the Maine International Film Festival. He is the main character in the one hour documentary entitled Peak Oil: A Love Story.
