Alizon Vosburgh was born in London, the third of six children. Her late father was Dick Vosburgh, American-born writer of TV comedy and musicals, broadcaster, actor, singer and general funny man. Her mother is Beryl Vosburgh. Alizon grew up in a theatrical and musical background, where the whole family sang, and fought over who got to do the harmonies. One sister is London-based actress, teacher and director Tilly Vosburgh. Alizon attended the Arts Educational Trust school, where there was lots of 'Bloody ballet' and a little acting and singing. She later attended Anna Scher's Drama School briefly in her teens. Alizon trained in Textiles Design, Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, Child Therapy and Holistic Counselling. Alizon sang lead and wrote lyrics in bands from her teens, from pop to folk to pop/swing (Tropical Fish) and later, Jazz (Second Thoughts). She has also sung in choirs, with styles as diverse as South African Township Jazz, classical, pop, folk, and Barbershop. She has been a member of Circular Keys Chorus since 2003, and a member of Sydney Vocal Project since 2012. She sings lead in Barbershop quartet Raw Sugar. Alizon came to Sydney in 2002 with her children and then husband. She had drama training at The Actor's Hub, and got more interested in acting. She has since had roles in the theater, film, TV/web, advertisements and training films and workshops.
