Kika Serra has been a non-fiction screenwriter since 1999. After training as staff writer for a daily What's On show ("Multishow em Revista"), she began scripting TV specials and ongoing TV shows for other GloboSat channels such as GNT, Canal Brasil, Canal Futura and Canal BIS. She has been hired by independent producers to help format projects such as "The making of 'Copacabana', "Passagem Para...", "Nós e Elas", "Londres, Assim", "Minha Loja de Discos"). Through her own former production company Serra Elétrica Produções, she directed and co-directed TV documentaries such as "Coréia: Asia Latina" and "O Som Nosso de Cada Dia". Several of the documentaries she has written have been featured in national and international festivals: "Rock Brasileiro, História em Imagens" (Festival do Rio, Mostra Internacional de São Paulo, In-Edit), "Os Irmãos Roberto" (É Tudo Verdade, Festival do Rio), Duas Histórias (Festival do Rio). Kika has been living between Barcelona and Rio de Janeiro since 2014. In Spain, she wrote and co-directed the web-based interactive documentary "Farselona", featured in festivals like SXSW (Austin, USA), L'Alternativa (Barcelona, Spain), FICG (Guadalajara, Mexico), Mediterranée en Images (Marseille, France), MIDBO (Bogotá, Colombia). In recent years, she has written the screenplay for a feature film in preproduction ("Ninguém pode provar nada - a inacreditável história de Ezequiel Neves"), a documentary series ("Expats", in post-production) and a medium-length music doc ("Constantly Flying, a film about Baba Zula", premiered during the 2022 In-Edit festival in Barcelona).
