Victoria Trofimenko is a visionary Ukrainian filmmaker, writer, and creative producer, with an unwavering commitment to bringing compelling stories to life on the big screen. Her passion for storytelling is evident in everything she does, from her award-winning debut feature-length film, 'Brothers. The Final Confession' to her work as a senior lecturer of TV and film directing named after Karpenko-Kary (the core film University in Ukraine) Victoria's contributions to the world of film have been recognized both locally and internationally, with numerous awards and accolades for her work. As a member of the European Film Academy and the Ukrainian Film Academy, Victoria continues to push boundaries and challenge norms, creating impactful and unforgettable cinematic experiences for audiences around the world. Victoria's debut feature-length film was 'Brothers. The Final Confession', a drama that she wrote and directed, based on the Swedish bestseller 'Hommelhonun' by Torgny Lindgren, was the first Ukrainian film since independence to be selected for three 'A' festivals and won two prizes at the Moscow MIFF, in addition to numerous other international awards. It was theatrically released in 28 cities in Ukraine, screened in many countries, and sold to Swedish TV channel SVT and China airline. Before the war, back in Ukraine Victoria has established her own production company, Alba film, which was focused over commercial development service and educative service. After beginning of the war Victoria left Ukraine and moved to Prague and lately in the summer 2022 she became visiting scholar - creative writer at the University of Texas at Austin where she was working as playwright over the play Yakiv, based on her original script about Holodomor (forced starvation in Ukraine in 1932-1933). With this project she was selected to Bergman Residency at Faro island in Sweden. In 2016 Victoria became the first Ukrainian participant selected to the program Ekran+ from Wajda School & Studio (Warsaw) with her project of the full length feature Downshifting. And in 2017 - she became the first Ukrainian selected for the script writing program eQuinoxe Europe, where she has been developing the script of her second feature film 'Yakiv'. In Ukraine, Victoria has established a script doctoring agency division within Alba film and is the creative producer and CEO of the company Alba Film. Victoria has written and directed numerous TV programs for various Ukrainian TV channels, including STB TV channel. She also directed and edited several feature documentaries for STB TV channel, including '9 lives of the terrorist Jacob Bljumkin', 'Three loves of the Father Machno', and 'Professor Viktor Petrov'. She also was working on several feature-length films as a script doctor, including 'The Embordient', 'The Bet and the Star', and 'Put My Head on a Place'.
