Mattie Jo Cowsert

Mattie Jo grew up in Midwest, Christian household in Branson, Missouri (which was a lot like being on a kitschy, yet charming movie set all the time, but a movie set nonetheless). Now a New York City based actor, she's ready to book that Hallmark Christmas movie so people back home knows she really made it. Mattie Jo has had much success in indie film and new media series. She starred alongside Cuyle Carvin in Asteroid, a feature film. She also starred in Sisters, a short film, written and directed by The Americans, Sara Nolan. And was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Over The Threshold. Mattie Jo received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Missouri State University. She is now a student at the Anthony Meindl studio and works predominantly on-camera. She resides in New York City and is writing a book based on her blog entitled God, Sex, and Rich People. Mattie Jo has an extensive background in fitness and athletics. Special skills include singing Broadway tunes while doing pull-ups.
