Valentín Mera was born October 2nd, 1979 in Quito, Ecuador under the birth name Diana Mera and the zodiac sign of Libra; strong, independent, creative, and talented. Peruvian by nationality and Mexican by heart is how Mera feels, given he was raised in both countries. With almost two decades in Entertainment, several music productions under his belt, a charismatic personality and a strong passionate voice he is working on a new albums and has returned to acting and hosting. Valentín has been featured in Despierta America , De Mañanita, El Gordo y La Flaca, America Live, Univisión Radio, Caracol, Azteca America, RitmoSon Latino, CNN, Los Angeles Times, HoyDallas, Cadena Azul, Caracol, among other media outlets that have supported his career. He has been nominated for the E-World Music Awards, Arizoni Award for the Vagina Monologues. Has received a Proclamation by the City of West Hollywood, California and the City of Phoenix, Arizona. Was honorably recognized by the State Senate in California for his music career. Valentín is married to artist Lourdes Mera (formerly known as Lourdes Graves). Mera has inspired thousands of people around the world by his visibility as an open LGBTQ performer at the Latin Billboard's 2012 when as Diana (prior to becoming Valentín) she kissed her same sex guest in the green carpet in front of press from all over the world. Valentín Mera is a singer/songwriter, actor, emcee, vog and producer that advocates that we as a community have the right to be successful, loved and respected. Mera wants to inspire other humans from any sexual orientation and identity to be strong, stand up and be who they are.
