The prolific and in-demand screenwriter L.G. Bayão was the mind behind many of Brazil's biggest pictures. Writing for directors such as Helvecio Ratton, Vicente Amorim, José Henrique Fonseca, and Julia Rezende, Bayão was responsible for penning some of the highest-grossing films of his country. Comfortable working within any genre, Bayão takes pride in creating both character-driven pieces like Rezende's "Ponte Aérea" (2015), mind-bending features such as Amorim's "Motorrad" (2017), and adrenalized blockbuster action like Luciano Cunha's comic book adaptation "O Doutrinador". Bayão wrote over twenty feature films, many of them going into production this year, making him one of the most creative writers in the business. Bayao's debut as a writer-director, the thriller "The Package", was totally shot guerrilla style in the streets of New York for under $ 10.000,00. A year later Bayao would write and direct his first animated short "Russian Roulette", Best Animation at Animamundi 2002. He also wrote and directed several short films until he was hired as a script collaborator on his first feature, Jose Henrique Fonseca's "Heleno" (2011), seven wins and eleven nominations on several film festivals. Amongst his later works, Bayao collaborated with film directors such as Halder Gomes ("Shaolin do Sertão"), Tomás Portella ("Aumenta que é Rock 'n Roll") and Lui Farias ("Minha Fama de Mau"). "Motorrad", whose screenplay was written by Bayao, was the only film entry to represent Brazil at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
