Jacqueline Wedderburn-Maxwell was born in Durban, South Africa, 05/04/1993. She debuted aged 9 as a soloist with the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra. At 10, she was offered a full scholarship to study as an international boarder at the acclaimed Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, England under the tutelage of Natalia Boyarsky. She returned to South Africa in 2006 to complete high school and achieved 5 distinctions at the age of 14 whilst studying violin under Prof. Jack de Wet in Cape Town. She was awarded a distinction in her LTCL Licentiate examination from Trinity Guildhall that same year. Jacqueline began her 4-year BMUS (Hons) Performance degree aged 16 at TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. The Ackerman Educational Trust and the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust kindly sponsored her studies abroad and she was a Trinity College of Music Trust Scholar. She graduated with First Class Honours, Cum Laude aged 20 studying under Pieter Schoeman, Concertmaster of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Jacqueline has performed as a soloist numerous times with orchestras such as the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, the Hugo Lambrecht's Orchestra, the TrinityLaban Repertoire Orchestra, the London Charity Orchestra and the Scottish National Ensemble.Jacqueline has toured with the Last Night of the Proms series as a soloist, appeared on TV for Felicia on E's 'Talented Youth', MNet's All Access, YoTV, with Westlife for the iTV show "For the very last time'' and appeared as herself on the show Made in Chelsea in Season 3. She has performed and been interviewed on radios including Classic FM and East Coast Radio. Jacqueline enjoys charity work and has performed many concerts raising funds for charities and foundations including the Red Cross Children's Hospital, Lifeline, St Francis Hospice, and the Eastern Cape Philharmonic Orchestra's Investment Project. She has won numerous competitions including the Sanlam Classical Music Competition, prizes for the best string player and the most promising musician. At the Artscape Classical Music Competition she was awarded the prizes for best classical musician, the strings title, best violinist and the best performance of a concerto in the final round-Sibelius Concerto in d minor. At age 16 she was placed second in the UNISA String Competition and was awarded SAMRO prize for best performance of a modern work. At the UNISA International Violin and Cello Competition Jax won the award for the most promising competitor. At the ATKV MUZIQ Classical Music Competition she won the prize for the best string player. Aged 18, she placed in the Top 3 strings players at the Trinity College of Music- London soloist competition. Aged 19, she performed Prokofiev Concerto #2 as a soloist with the TrinityLaban Repertoire Orchestra and placed in the top 3 strings at the Trinity College of Music Duo Competition. In 2013, she placed top 3 of the TrinityLaban Duo Competition and premiered/recorded a work for the Spanish composer Juan Antonio Simarro Gonzalez. In September 2013, Jax won the overall title at the ATKV Muziq competition, the title of best String Player and prize for best rendition of a Classical/Baroque work. In October, she lead the LCO at St Paul's Cathedral. She has performed solo recitals at St Martin's in the Fields, Trafalgar Square and at the Wigmore Hall. In 2014, Jax toured South Africa, performing in numerous recitals around the country and as a soloist in The Last Night of the Proms Series under the baton of Richard Cock. She also toured Scotland and the UK, performing with the Scottish National Ensemble and the Commonwealth Strings. Jax was sponsored and signed to move to Los Angeles in April 2015 where she is pursuing her music career with Randy Jackson (Dream Merchant 21)/ managed by Marlon Stoltzman. She has recorded and performed with numerous artists within Los Angeles and abroad. Jax also recorded a track which will be featured on Season 6 of Game of Thrones
