Michelle Chamuel was born in 1986 and grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She played violin and piano at an early age and studied performing arts technology at the University of Michigan. She then toured nationally as the frontwoman of the electronic-rock band Ella Riot. In 2012 she relocated to Amherst, Massachusetts, and released several works as an independent musician. In 2013 she took part in NBC's singing competition The Voice (2011). Chamuel works from her studio in Amherst, Massachusetts, as a vocalist, songwriter, and recording artist.
