Maria DeSimone, is a New York based actress born in Puerto Rico. She moved to Connecticut in 1988 with her mom, dad and her two brothers. While Maria is of Puerto Rican descent her paternal grandmother's parents were Europeans who settled on the island of Puerto Rico. As a child Maria's father always encouraged her to dance Afro-Caribbean rhythms like salsa and merengue. Learning how to dance was always difficult, but her dad told her to not "be scared you will get it". Performing, whether it was dancing or acting was in Maria's blood and even though her first acting experience was in Grammar school, Maria knew then that she wanted to be in front of the camera. On the path to following her dreams, Maria made the tough decision to get a full-time job working at a bank in order to make ends meet. With her great work ethic and determination, she was able to make her way up the corporate ladder and became one of the youngest managers in the company. Still, the job she had worked so hard for just wasn't enough to quench her creative ambitions so she decided to move on in order to pursue acting full time. As Maria started to explore the world of film and television, she began taking classes in New York City and networking with industry professionals. She started to audition and quickly landed many roles in short films and Indies, making friends and learning the business along the way. In 2012, Maria received an amazing opportunity when she was offered the supporting role of 24 year old 'Ava' in the feature film The Zombinator (2012) directed by Sergio Myers. She then went on to play 'Mimi Ortiz' in the short film, Those Who Serve (2012), starring Katherine Dickson. Then came another wonderful opportunity when she booked a lead role in the short film, Kill Bill's (2012), Directed By Adrien Lo. In addition, she played 25-year-old 'Isabelle Russo' in the web-series Back To Basics(2012). Maria has booked many national commercials including voice overs. In 2012, Maria made her television debut on the Bio channel in Celebrity Ghost Stories (2012). She also had a supporting role in the TV show, The Haunting Of.. (2012), and landed a supporting role on the Television show Deadly Sins (2012). Currently, Maria has a lead role in a TV series (TBD).
