Andrea-Rachel Parker is an American actress and choreographer best known for her current role as "Bernice" on the critically acclaimed HBO series The Deuce (2017) and as "Destiny" on STARZ's Image Award® nominated series Power (2014) For her performance in UGLY, she received the SOFIE award for Best Supporting Actress in 2016. The year prior, she had a starring role in 72 HOURS: A BROOKLYN LOVE STORY? Her television credits include the TIDAL produced digital series After Hours (2017) alongside Tristan "Mack" Wilds as well as Transgender Bridge (2015) "Transgender Bridge". On stage, Andrea-Rachel appeared in the Off-Broadway production of Children of Killers written by Olivier award-winning playwright Katori Hall . She is the winner of the "Manhattan Monologue Slam" competition and the recipient of the "Audience Favorite" award via the Independent Film New York (IFNY) monologue slam competition. She is the blend between "spice and everything nice". Growing up in New York, she attended Brooklyn High School of The Arts with a focus in both dance and science. Having enrolled in the school's 'fast track' program, Andrea-Rachel finished her studies a year ahead of her graduating class. Following graduation and prior to her career in acting, she performed with and for several artists including but not limited to Jennifer Hudson and Luke James A true Brooklynite at heart, Andrea-Rachel is a practicing vegan and an advocate for autism awareness, health, wellness and body-positivity. She affirms that "acting allows me to be everything and nothing at the same time." In her spare time, Andrea-Rachel also raises awareness for animal rights and issues related to mental health. Her fitness regimen includes training in capoeira and stage combat. Said to intrigue people with her wit and rawness and hopes to get into writing and directing. She is of Jamaican, Spanish and Native American descent.
