Nicolás Kasakoff

Nicolas Kasakoff: From the multicultural city of Buenos Aires to Conquer the World. Throughout his life, creative and artistic disciplines have always motivated Nico: he studied Advertising, Art History and Film Direction. He began his career as a freelance graphic designer, from 1995 to 2000, and then later taking the leap to an agency that has made history in Argentinian advertising: Agulla and Baccetti. During this time, Nicolas scored numerous acknowledgments, from top local awards, to a Golden Clio for his work in design including various projects for MTV. Moved by his passion for film and following his gut, he decided to test his luck in the world of cinema. His gamble paid off: in late 2001 he directed several commercials. With his natural talent, coupled with his obsession for a sensible and contemporary comedic style, his work began to shine by its own light. Nico loves comedy and storytelling; he loves to work with actors. And he knows how to do it fantastically well, in a natural and authentic manner. In 2002, alongside his business partner and friend Claudio Pastorino, Nunchaku was created, one of the most creatively leading and witty production companies in Argentina. In 2003 Nicolas was one of twenty-five selected for Saatchi's New Directors Showcase. Since then, amongst many other awards, Nicolas has won a Golden Lion and a Silver Lion at Cannes, and two D&DA Yellow Pencils, probably the most coveted award in the UK, amongst many other in Latin America, Europe and the rest of the world. In the pursuit of new dreams, mid 2011, along with his friend and executive producer Leda Nasio, Nicolas Kasakoff opens Nunchaku United States. Both share a taste for a job well done, and the passion to continue telling stories that are fun and exciting.
