Volkmar Welzel was born in 1991 near Berlin, Germany. During school he took his first acting and singing classes and then visited the Acting School Berlin-Charlottenburg for three years. In 2011, Volkmar played in Kai Stänickes short "It's consuming me", which premiered in San Francisco and won several prices at different short film festivals around the world. After finishing the school in 2012, Volkmar chose his pseudonym Volkmar Leif Gilbert and played in several short films, including a 60-seconds-version of "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog" and "Serefe". Him taking singing and dancing lessons shows Volkmar's passion for Musicals and Shows. Moreover, he played children's and youth-theatre in Berlin and is recently on stage in Stuttgart for the French play "Der Putzteufel".
