Shaun Wilson is an Australian auteur director, producer and cinematographer known for the feature film Black Garden and the slow cinema pentalogy 51 Paintings Suite. Drawing from his influences of Bela Tarr and Aleksei German, his work lends itself to Eastern European arthouse dogma cinema which is often characterised by black and white cinematography, minimal dialogue, and his preference for working with non actors as a ploy for realism over entertainment.
