The baritone Michael Wilder was born in Vienna, and graduated in Opera and Voice at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. He has studied in Master Classes with Bernd Weikl, Ingrid Bjoner and Costas Pascalis, and he took part as a finalist in the Richard Tauber Competition in London in 1993. Michael Wilder has a wide Opera and Operetta repertoire. His roles include the title roles in Don Giovanni and Boccaccio, Papageno (The Magic Flute), Count Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro), Count Homanay (The Gypsy Baron), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Bill (The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) and Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia). His repertoire also includes Lieder and Sacred Music in which fields he has given numerous concerts and recitals in Canada, Austria, England and Germany, as well as performing several roles in modern operatic works.
