A film buff from childhood, Mike Henderson began his journey in filmmaking in 1999 as an extra on the set of Oliver Stone's Football drama 'Any Given Sunday". An imaginative and creative storyteller, Henderson had been penning stories since the early 80's. Henderson served in the U.S. Army for 10 years and while stationed in Germany began creating his own music videos using consumer-level audio and video equipment, as well as writing scripts and screenplays and to hone his story creation skills. He joined Dallas Filmmakers, a Dallas, TX based local film group in the summer of 2009 and began working on local projects as a Production Assistant/ Actor, as well as doing extras work on numerous local small scale productions and video projects. A quick study, Henderson stepped out on his own in 2010 and created his own first film project, "The Wrong House", a Supernatural Thriller short film that he wrote, directed and filmed. Continuing educate and create alongside other local talent, Henderson took on his biggest challenge in 2012 with directing his first feature film "Overpass", a drama that he wrote and directed using the city of Grand Prairie, Texas as the backdrop. Running the production from beginning to end, from post-production, principle photography as well as supervising post-production duties,he lead his first full film crew through a rigorous shooting schedule that spanned three months and completed and edited 85% of the film himself. Henderson continues to be a prominent fixture in the independent film arena in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, with endorsements and recognition from Local area industry professionals from online social media sites such as Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter, and has created his own production entity, ArtWerks Entertainment, with the goal of bringing Hollywood-standard filmmaking back to North Texas
