Laura Denton is an actor, writer, model, science geek, and animal lover. A versatile actress, Laura enjoys jumping deep into troubled, dramatic characters and bouncing into quirky, comedic roles. She draws inspiration from many different artists, ranging from the endearing, classic charm of Audrey Hepburn, to the craft of Amy Adams, to the fearless zaniness of Kristen Wiig and Amy Sedaris, (and she is often told she looks like Tina Fey and Rose Byrne). Born in Texas, and raised in Oklahoma, Laura considers her state loyalty in the "grey area". Her love of performing and making people laugh came at a young age. She often tormented her family with pranks and practical jokes; she owned a whoopee cushion, rubber chicken, and hand buzzer, all by the age of five. She would perform for friends and family in sketch shows written by her older sister, Sarah. It wasn't until Laura was in the third grade that she and her sister got their hands on Dad's video camera, aka "the Spielburg", and filmed several VCR tapes worth of sketches (which will one day make incredible blackmail material, should it ever emerge on YouTube). As she grew older, she found herself attracted to complex dramatic roles and humanizing stories. Laura resides in Los Angeles. She studied acting in Playhouse West, reaching advanced level, and is a co-creator of the award-wining sketch group "SoBad-ItsGood", which was awarded "Best Sketch" at the 2012LACOMEDY Festival. In her downtime, Laura enjoys painting and drawing, writing, and a good ol' fashioned nap. And if you give her chocolate, she'll be your friend forever.
