Erin Foy is a writer best known for her kids' short film Turtle Soup, which landed on the Tropfest shortlist in 2016 before taking out the Best Film award at the highly acclaimed Short and Sweet Film Festival; and for her feature film, Chance of Snow, which was a semi-finalist in America's PAGE screenwriting awards in 2019. During her years of writing, Erin has developed many feature films and TV specs, one of which caught Rebecca Gibney's eye in 2016. As a result, Erin was hired to work alongside Rebecca and Matchbox Pictures in the plotting room for their International Emmy-nominated drama, Wanted. Between 2017 to 2019, Erin was selected as a Developer for Screen Canberra's Film POD, was chosen as one of 15 NSW participants for Screen Australia and Screen NSW's Diversity Talent Camp, undertook two separate writing residencies at Australians in Film's Charlie's (Los Angeles), completed Screen Canberra's TV Pod program, and was invited to perform at Amy Poehler's annual Improv Marathon in New York City. Since her initial introduction in 2016, Erin has completed another 10 contracts with Matchbox Pictures. She has also since worked as a Script Assist on Channel 7 and Amazon's Back to the Rafters, as Script Coordinator on Channel 9 and Playmaker Media's Amazing Grace, and is currently working as a writer on various independent projects. Fun fact: Erin kick-started her writing career after winning $5000 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show; funds which she used to travel abroad and study screenwriting.
