Justin Berger is an American born filmmaker living in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. What began as what some would call an "unhealthy" obsession with movies, has evolved in to a deep-rooted passion to create and convey stories via film. Inspired at an early age by such filmmakers and storytellers as Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Joe Dante, Jim Henson and Robert Zemeckis, Justin began creating and editing movies on his parents VCR and Camcorder around the age of 10. Since 2008 he has produced and directed a wide array of music videos, web series and promotional content for a plethora of well-known artists, actors and companies via his own production company, HKL Films. In 2011 he and fellow filmmaker Michelle Fatale created Chromosome 16 Productions, a Bay Area based production company focusing on short & feature films as well as music videos and commercial content. In 2013 Justin began development on a web-based TV series which he is producing, writing and directing titled "Black Betty" -- a dramatic action series revolving around a young woman seeking revenge on the man who murdered her mother. He is also the co-host of an entertainment podcast titled "The G Word" along with filmmaker Michelle Fatale and in his free time enjoys playing music and video games.
