Chris Fudge, born May 26, 1980, is a Canadian director and screenwriter. He is also owner and creator of Plateau Entertainment, which is based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland - a small fishing village located about 350 kilometers from St. John's. When he was 24, he moved to Halifax to pursue his filmmaking career. Always interested in writing and film, Chris and a close friend started recreating music videos in 2008 for fun. Eager to improve the quality of his videos, Chris used the internet to teach himself the technical aspects of filmmaking. He later enrolled in local acting and filmmaking courses to round-out his knowledge and experience. The short film he created for an online course finally gave him the confidence boost he needed to start making connections in the local film industry. Using his own savings and money he crowd-funded, Chris raised enough money to hire a crew and actors to shoot his first short film, Ransom. Released in February 2016, the thriller was screened at many small film festivals across the US and went on to win three awards including, Best Thriller Short at the Hollywood International Motion Pictures Film Festival in Hollywood, California. Encouraged by the success of his first film, Chris crowd-funded more money to produce another film in 2016. Underneath the Makeup, There's Me, a short film about a transgender teen, was screened at international human rights film festivals around the world in countries such as India and the Ukraine. The film won three festival awards in Indiana, Arkansas and the LGBT Short award at the Hollywood International Motion Pictures Film Festival H.I.M.P.F.F. in California. Due to the success of "Ransom" and "Underneath the Make-up, There me", Chris got invited to attend a red carpet event and screening in Hollywood at the H.I.M.P.F.F. located at Raleigh Studios. When word of his success circulated, the local media contacted Chris. He did radio interviews and his story was featured in local newspapers. June 2017 saw the release of his short film, "Return To Form". It was accepted and screened at the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Chris worked on a few other projects in 2018, including his new film, "Apprehension". It was submitted to numerous festivals in the U.S. and Canada. In September 2018, the film was screened at the Short and Sweet Film Festival, located at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre in Hollywood. Chris attended this exciting event.
