Atlanta-based composer and producer Larrie Reece cannot recall a time at which music did not play an important role in her life. Larrie grew up in Augusta, GA, spending most of her time singing in school and church choirs and musicals, and leading worship for her church's youth group. She began taking formal voice and piano lessons in high school, and even studied voice under a former Julliard professor. After receiving vocal scholarships to Mercer University, Georgia State University, and the University of Mobile, Larrie began studying church music at the University of Mobile in the fall of 2006. After three years of classical study and performance, she transferred to Berklee College of Music in 2009 to pursue excellence in contemporary styles. During her time in Boston, Larrie had the opportunity of traveling nationally and internationally leading worship for FUGE camps, as well as leading worship for the local church, Excellence Bible Church. She also performed as a solo artist in various singer-songwriter shows and performances, and ran sound for a local performance venue. Larrie graduated from Berklee in May of 2012 with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. After leading worship for FUGE camps the summer of 2012, she moved to Atlanta and was married in February of 2013. In addition to working as a freelance composer, producer, and engineer, teaching voice and piano, and leading worship at her local church, Larrie just recently scored her first short film, and is in the process of recording her first album.
