Dr. Thomas Keith teaches philosophy and gender studies at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and Claremont Graduate University, where he received his Ph.D. in 2001. Dr. Keith specializes in American philosophy and pragmatism with an emphasis on issues of race, class, and gender. In 2008 and 2011 respectively, Dr. Keith wrote, directed, and produced the bestselling Media Education Foundation films, Generation M: Misogyny in Media and Culture, and, The Bro Code: How Contemporary Culture Creates Sexist Men, which are used in classrooms around the world. His latest film, The Empathy Gap: Masculinity and the Courage to Change was released in October, 2015. In 2017, Tom authored the book Masculinities in Contemporary American Culture: An Intersectional Approach to the Complexities and Challenges of Male Identity for Routledge Publishing (Taylor & Francis). His new book, Bro Culture, is set for publication in 2019.
