Joan Chak is a film, television, theater and commercial actor. She was awarded "Best Acting Duo, Bronze Award" for her role in "Baking Cookies for a Witch's Funeral" from the Independent Shorts Awards (LA) 2019. Joan was also awarded the "Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film" at the Atlantic City Film Festival in October 2015 for her role as Vera in "Illusionism." She received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Playhouse West Philadelphia Film Festival for her role in the dramatic short film, "Contrition". Joan is known for her roles in Celebrity Ghost Stories - The Dan Cortese Story, Destination America - Amish Haunting, Sister (2015) and The Sharpest Crayon. She has also appeared in numerous comedy webisodes and independent films. Joan has written and produced three films, Sister (2015), Ms. Fortune, and Baking Cookies for a Witch's Funeral. Ms. Fortune received the Audience Choice Award at the Ocean City Maryland Film Festival (2018). She also wrote and directed the short romantic comedy, "Hott Yoga," which received numerous awards in the 21 Hour Film Competition and other short film festivals. Joan plans to continue writing screenplays and producing films while pursuing her studies at the Playhouse West - Philadelphia Acting School.
