Born in New York City, Christian D Chapra has a broad understanding of the United States. Raised in Michigan, Texas, and Colorado, he brings a unique perspective to his films. Educated at the University of Colorado at Boulder, his classmates included Trey Parker and Matt Stone. His professors included the legendary avant-garde filmmaker Stan Brakhage, and notable film theorists Marian Keane, and Bruce F Kawin. In 2012, Chapra finished his education at Boston University Center for Digital Imaging Arts. His final project, "The Wardens", debuted at the student film screening, at the Embassy Theater, in Waltham, on June 15th, 2012. "The Wardens" was then expanded into a feature length screenplay, entitled "Moving On". On October 18, 2013, "Moving On" received the "Best Unproduced Screenplay Based on a Drama" Award at the London International Film Festival. "The Wardens" was a late edition to the screening schedule, making its festival debut. As of 12/31/13, Chapra is working on five short, and three feature length scripts. He is hoping to produce the short film "Reach for the Stars", during the summer of 2014.
