Michael Edward Gibson was born in Florida but raised in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. He grew up being heavily involved in music and performance, choosing to learn several instruments and compose music throughout his grade school and high school years. In high school, he began writing his first full-length musical and eventually recorded a full length concept recording. Ever since, he has been greatly involved in musical theater performance, appearing onstage and in pit orchestras throughout the Chicagoland area. Michael graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music, where he continued to develop his musical skills. He then received his Master's degree from Boston University. Michael has composed film scores for several independent films in the Chicago area. His original musical "Nine Lives" began as a web series which won an award at the L.A Web Fest in 2013. "Nine Lives" went on to the stage when it was selected for the 2015 Chicago Musical Theater Festival. Michael directs a vocal ensemble called Musicality, a prestigious performance group that appeared on Season 11 of NBC's America's Got Talent as semifinalists (TOP 20).
