Kieran Williams

Director | Actor | Writer
Date of birth : 09/16/1997
City of birth : Gravesend, Kent, England, UK

Kieran was born in Gravesend and lived there for the first 8 years of his life. He moved to Cumbria, UK for a year, and later relocated back to Gravesend at the age of 10. While growing up, Kieran aspired to become an architect and persisted to study relatable subjects at his school, Northfleet Technology College. It was only until the summer of 2013 when he realised that he had a passion for acting. One of his close friends, Chas Harrington (Director) introduced him to an independent film company that he and his brother, Eddie SC Thomas were planning on creating to make short films. The name they came up with was spontaneously chosen, based on the idea of being given a title by fate. The company is called 'Overtime Productions'. Kieran's first acting role was early in 2014 when he acted as the rebel leader in 'A Girl Called Elsie'. This film was created to be entered into the 'For The Fallen 2014 Film Challenge' and was nominated in the top 10 best short war films. Their film was applauded and recognised for it's creative input and limited resources. It was also given a special mention from one of the judges, Sarah Phelps (Writer & Creator of The Crimson Fields) who stated that the film was 'genuinely un-nerving and atmospheric'. Kieran's second acting role was at the end of 2014, for a film based on a short story by Charlie Fish called 'Death By Scrabble'. After post-production was finished, it was published onto YouTube. Later on in the year, the film was entered into the 'CiniFest2015' and won an award for 'Best short drama'. In the early stages of 2015, Kieran started writing his first script for the 'Rode Film Festival 2015' which was only two weeks away when he began his first draft. The name of the film was called 'My Grandfather's Watch'. Kieran both acted and wrote the screenplay for this short film. Unfortunately, they didn't win anything, but this did influence Kieran to write many more short script ideas, to which he gradually became more passionate about and enhanced his writing skills. His next film that he wrote the screenplay for and acted in was a film based around schizophrenia, called 'Know You Not'. In October 2015, their film 'Know You Not', was entered into 'The First Dorking Film Festival' which had a huge entry of over 950 films. Their film was whittled down into the top 11 films and was part of the official selection that was screened at the Dorking Halls. On 26th December, the 17 minute documentary of the Dorking Film Festival was released on Overtime Productions YouTube channel for the public to view. Other projects that Kieran has been involved with, are the reboot of 'A Girl Called Elsie' which was remade with a noticeable difference in the acting and cinematography, and a short teaser film called 'In A Pickle'. This film is test footage for a 20-25 minute short film that is currently in pre-production, called 'The Usual Agents'. Kieran was the director, producer, writer, DoP and editor for 'In A Pickle'. He wanted to test his other abilities and experience different areas involved with the crew. His film was successful with the audience and intrigued people into watching the full 20-25 minute version in the future. In 2014, Kieran applied for the BTEC course in Drama at Northfleet Technology College's sixth form. In the past, he had decided that he despised drama and he was very unconfident in a lot of situations. Once his school years had finished, he decided that he should find something that would help him become more confident, so he turned to drama and he thought that it would be a good idea to try something new. Ever since then, he has been acting in both theatre productions with his school, and independent films outside in his own time. Along side drama, Kieran also studies in IBCC Film. This is to help him become better at his creative writing, cinematography and filmmaking in general.
