Born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1979, he studied filmmaking in Istanbul between 2003 and 2007. After graduation, he worked in several feature films as assistant director and went on writing and directing short films and music videos. Also, between 1999 and 2009 he worked as a professional musician. His debut feature film "Leyla Once Again" came out in 2020.
