Rita Bazzan is an Italian/Australian actor, writer and director. Born in Milan, Italy. Rita moved to Australia in 1987, not being able to speak the language she developed a knack of understanding people and situations through body language, facial expressions and tone of voice. This is where Rita's love for acting and storytelling began. Rita took part in school plays, after school acting courses and studied theatre in her high school years, but when it came time to decide what her next step would be after high school, a steadier career or following her heart, there really wasn't a choice. Rita auditioned and placed at William Bates Academy of Performing Arts and small theatre companies. A full time 3 year diploma course which she completed and excelled in 2 years. During this time she majored in acting, studying many different acting techniques; Stanislavsky, Chekhov, Brecht, Strasberg, Meisner, Adler to name a few. Minored in dance; jazz, hip hop, contemporary etc, fight choreography, fencing, and singing. Once graduated Rita and fellow thespians decided to start a non profit theatre company, 'No Dramas'. Rita has continued her studies throughout her career including; The Audition Technique with Greg Apps, American Accents with Natasha McNamara at Screenwise, The Actor's Space and The Actor's Nest with Paul O'Brien. Rita did take a long step away from acting to support ailing family. Whilst this set her back in her prime she insists it taught her valuable life lessons which she carries with her through her characters.....
