Derrick Andrews was born in Columbus, Mississippi on November 30, 1987. During his journey through grade school, he adventured into playing sports like football and baseball. He also enjoyed motocross and bodybuilding.Beginning of his sophomore year, he decided to quit all his school sports to primary focus on bodybuilding. At the age of 16, he began competing in bodybuilding competitions for the National Physique Committee(NPC).Traveling to 4 different states and competing in 12 competitions, he never placed below third. During the next year, he qualified for teen nationals winning his state tournament and a national qualifier. Wanting to increase his body weight, he planned to wait until the age of 18 to head to teen nationals, but suffered a torn ACL one month away from competition. Later that year, he began college at Mississippi State University. From a colleague, he was introduced into acting and modeling. In 2011, he landed his first major speaking role in the feature film The Pizza Boy(2013) as a local Pizza Manager in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After graduating college with a bachelor degree in geology, he moved to Dallas, Texas. Since his time in Texas, he has been featured in several productions, including; Travel Channel's Monumental Mysteries(2014) as Theobald Smith, a Trainer in Party Girl Web Series(2014), CIA Agent for TNT's Dallas Season 3(2014), BBQ Attendant for Marlboro Wed AD (2014), Alex Nielsen in Alex: The Return(2014)and currently in preproduction(2015) Rick Flag Jr. in Suicide Squad and Allen in the feature film Rookie.
