Jim Bratcher

Born Jimmy Lea Bratcher born in St Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. His Parents were Laura Margaret Miller/Bratcher and Sidney Eugene Bratcher. He had an older brother and sister, was the baby of the family for nine years until his younger brother was born, and 2 years later another brother and sister (twins) were born. His middle name, Lea (pronounced Lee), was his grandmother's maiden name. He was raised on a Dairy/Truck farm in what is now a part of Arlington, Texas. Though at the time it was a Rural Postal route, and part of the Fort Worth School District. He went to Littles Elementary School, Handley Junior High School (in his seventh grade there, it was Handley High School), and Eastern Hills High School. Upon graduating, he joined the US Navy for 6 years active duty, due to enrolling in the nuclear power program, which is the equivalent to two years of college in physics. While in the Navy he married, had a daughter, and got divorced. His Daughter was adopted by his older sister since he wasn't able to take care of her while enlisted. After coming home from the Navy he worked for a year on the dairy. During that time he became involved in Scientology, and moved to Los Angeles, the main location for Scientology at the time, at the beginning of 1971. Although no longer a part of Scientology, he met his second wife there in 1974, and has remained in a very successful open polyamorous marriage with her ever since. He adopted her son by another marriage, and they had three more children together, all grown at this point. In addition to their polyamorous lifestyle, they are also nudists, and their kids were raised with full knowledge and participation in both. Although raised as a strict Southern Baptist (very redundant), he has evolved to be very spiritual, but not at all religious.
