Producer, Director & Director of Photography Keri Pickett's work documents those who seek to right a wrong. She is a 2017 McKnight Foundation Fellow in the Media Arts. Her award-winning documentary feature film 'First Daughter and the Black Snake' premiered at the 2017 Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF) where it won the Best MN Made Documentary Feature Film and was chosen for Best of Fest as well as Native Women in Film, Arizona International Film Festival and Red Nation Film Festivals. 'The Fabulous Ice Age' premiered at the 2013 MSPIFF (Best of Fest) official selection of Napa Valley Film Festival, Dance on Camera, The Fargo Film Festival winning Best Documentary and Best Directing awards from Women's Indie Film Festival and Gwinnett International Film Festival. The Fabulous Ice Age is on Netflix, sub-titled into ten languages. Virgil Films & Entertainment distribute for both film. Steel // Spirit, documentary short film featuring Movement Artist Yves Musard interacting with Richard Serra's "Inside, Outside, 2013" at the Gagosian Gallery in New York City, NY premiered at the 2015 Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival and won an Award of Excellence in Directing and an Award of Excellence for Documentary Short at the Indian Cine Festival in Mumbai, India. Pickett is best known as a photographer and author of 'Love in the 90s', 'Faeries' and co-author of 'Saving Body & Soul'. She's received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Bush, McKnight, Jerome and Target Foundations. She's been a regular contributing photographer for publications such as the Village Voice, People and Time magazines. Her photographs are in national and international museums and collections.
