Rod Kirby

Rod Kirby is obsessed with writing, directing, and producing high-quality trans-media content. Rod's latest project, The Prayer, was a second-rounder in Screencraft's Film Fund screenwriting competition and a semifinalist winner in the Filmmatic Short Screenplay Awards. He is also a Director of Photography, camera operator, and producer. He leads production teams in the successful filming of motion picture projects for television and film. Recently, he recorded interviews for VH1's Basketball Wives (season 9). Rod was born to a struggling single mother that fought hard to give him the very best in life. She eventually found love and married her childhood sweetheart. Rod's screenwriting is enriched by diverse experiences growing up in the poorest neighborhoods in Memphis, TN, Flint, Michigan, and Darmstadt, Germany once his step-father entered the army. He enjoys creating complex characters finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances. Rod is a graduate of Full Sail University's Master of Science in Entertainment Business program.
