Emir Kapetanovic (09.09.1988) is a director and writer from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated film and theatre directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. He attended many film & theatre workshops (FAMU Cinema Dance, Sarajevo Talent Campus, etc.) held by significant international lecturers (Timothy John Byford, Gillian Anderson, Darren Aronofsky). In his carrier he wrote and directed short movies, cabarets, plays, documentaries, web series, TV shows, stand up comedy shows, music videos, street performances. In 2010. he directed music documentary "Ricochet" about uniting of three Bosnian rappers from three different ethnicity backgrounds in order to write a missing text for Bosnian national anthem. From 2010 - 2014 he was Artistic Director of Magacin Kabare, Bosnian NGO that promotes art and social activism through art where he wrote and directed more than twenty cabarets. He worked for national television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHT) where he wrote and directed 30 episodes of sketch comedy shows dealing with Bosnian social issues. In 2013. in partnership with Jolie Pitt Foundation he wrote and directed first Bosnian web-series "Patriot" which by using comedy and satire deals with discrimination in Bosnian society. He is based in Sarajevo where he works on a position of Executive Director of an NGO - Magacin Kabare, and lecturer/producer in Mali Magacin Kabare, project which teaches children aged 6-14 (around 150 hundred a year) to express themselves through movies. He often works on a projects dealing with children and people with disabilities as well as young people of Bosnia and Herzegovina supported by American Embassy in Sarajevo, Unicef and Jolie Pitt Foundation.
