Director, Producer, Writer, Background Actor Geri Lynn is no stranger to supporting those in need and assisting them in creating opportunities for having their voices heard. GL (Geri Lynn) has integrated her professional and personal life by producing and co-directing the film Justice Denied, a short 30 minute documentary that takes male sexual assault in our armed forces out of the shadows. This doc has screened at the Pentagon and US Senate, is on Amazon Prime. It is being used a an educational tool on military installations. Geri Lynn has co-directed an instructional film for the VA Healthcare System; associate produced another documentary; written and directed a PSA for New Mexico Women In Film and is currently directing a theatrical political docudrama. This trauma specialist/EAP/retired Clinical Social Worker has been affectionately dubbed the trauma queen. She as provided mental health support for air plane crashes, fires, 9/11, Katrina, sexual assault and other related traumas. Matthews Educational Background: SUNY at Buffalo,BA in Media and Mass Communications; Substance Abuse Counseling certificate from the University Of New Mexico; MSW LCSW from New Mexico Highlands University and is a retired medical and clinical social work. As an MSW Geri Lynn has over 25 years of rich biospychosocial experience as a social worker including a focus on Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and as an advocate for over 20+ years. She is one of the subjects profiled in the Oscar nominated film, The Invisible War and also worked on producing the play, A Shot Away in New Mexico. Geri Lynn is a public speaker, EAP, educator, in private practice, a clinical supervisor, presenter at conventions, speaker at military briefings, a seminar facilitator, worked at Penthouse and Omni magazines; KZIA radio; On the Scene Magazine associate editor; freelance writer Veterans Voice newsletter, Paralyzed Veterans/PVA , Fire Department Of New York City/ FDNY/Red Cross Project Liberty post 9/11 terror attacks/clinical supervisor, public relations, advertising,publishing; writer of the book New Mexico's Most Wanted; film stand in/extra for Made in U.S.A. '80's cult road film; administrator on social media pages : Service: When Women Come Marching Home; Consultant for Protect Our Defender's and GI Bridge. Co-hosted radio 2 radio shows about the transgender community. Mentor to social workers and veterans that want to create film projects to educate advocate and create policy. Awards: St. Joseph's Hospital, social work award YWCA Women of the Year nominee, 2012 FDNY 2003, Director's Special Commendation; Accolade Award for Justice Denied. Geri Lynn continues to produce/direct other films as owner of UnAvoidable Productions LLC; former board member of MACCS Media Arts Collaborative Charter School; former board member of Behind The Badge and is a current board member of New Mexico Women In Film.
