Arriving in Melbourne from Queensland as a young boy, Cam Ewart unknowingly found himself in the centre of Australia's vibrant live music scene. Taking interests in music and theatre from a young age, Cam threw himself into acting & performing, finding his strong voice by accident at the age of 12. After countless musical theatre performances, Cam picked up the guitar at 15 & has been writing, recording & playing live ever since. Every band he has been involved in has quickly moved from garage to stage, each enjoying radio play here at home & on occasion overseas. As a solo performer he plunged into the deep end cutting his teeth sharing dusty stages with acts he held in high esteem such as The Drones, Don Walker (Cold Chisel) & many more. These days his musical output is shared via the Alt-Country band Ghost Towns of the Midwest. Aswell as enjoying repeated airplay on Melbourne's 102.7RRRFM & 106.7PBSFM, the bands first single "Gallow Birds" debuted nationally on JJJ's "Roots 'n All". Their debut EP "Field Recordings Of..." was recently completed & shows the bands strong knack of combining vocal harmonies, guitars, bass, piano, violin & mandolin to create a sound that goes from upbeat boot stompers to bar room ballads. Along the way Cam has continued acting on the side, and his face can be seen popping up in both indie & feature films, plus spots on the small screen. His love of film has also seen him compose & record scores & soundtracks for a number of short films. These days Cam combines all of these loves & talents whilst running a successful business teaching young children music. His program encourages kids to appreciate music, and uses artists like The Beatles & Elvis plus original songs to teaching them valuable skills for their development.
