Frederick T. Martens was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Fordham University, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He retired as a Detective/Lieutenant of the New Jersey State Police and Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Crime Commission. He has co-authored a book, POLICE INTELLIGENCE IN CRIME CONTROL and authored WE'LL MAKE YOU AN OFFER YOU CAN'T REFUSE. He is a member of the renowned Vidocq Society, a former President of The International Association for the Study of Organized Crime, and a frequent contributor to Criminal Law Criminal Justice Books, a journal sponsored by Rutgers University. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Pacific Rim. He maintains one of the most extensive libraries on organized crime in the United States. He had been commissioned by the Republic of Northern Ireland to establish and Independent Private Inspector General in the construction industry; served as an integrity monitor at the site of the World Trade Center after 9/11 and during the rebuilding of the One WTC; and investigated fraud, waste and abuse post Katrina in New Orleans.
