Since 1982, George Manoli has been teaching his 'no-nonsense' hands-on women's self-defence course to thousands of women in Alberta and across Quebec. Students who take his courses and workshops learn to confidently stop the aggression or fight back using full force, disabling responses against a fully padded assailant, helping them develop the necessary mind-set to deal with the fear, confusion and panic that occurs during a violent confrontation. Mr. Manoli is a personal safety trainer with a background in Japanese Karate, Judo as well as submission grappling. He has developed various courses to assist rape and assault survivors and to street-proof and bully-proof children. He runs his own Karate and Jiu-Jitsu club in Beaconsfield, Quebec. His women's self-defence course was rated by the CAFSU as one of Montreal's best personal safety courses. It has been presented on the television channel 'Avis de recherché' (five shows called: Défense légitime) and featured on 'Watch Mojo.com' and in the 'National Film Board' documentary entitled 'The Ring within' and 'The Volcano.' Mr. Manoli's other accomplishments include representing Canada at three world Koshiki Karate Championships reaching the winners podium at all three events. He also put together the 'Air Canada' cabin defense training program for 'unruly passengers' which was taught to over 6000 crew members throughout Canada.
