Marcia Jones Cross was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and lives in Atlanta, GA. She received her bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Clark College (now Clark Atlanta University) and her master's degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois. Marcia got the acting bug when she performed with Pittsburgh's Kuntu Reportory Theater in its stage production of "A Raisin in the Sun" and "Steal Away." Recently, she has acted in primary and supporting roles in several independent feature and short films, including: Rough Patch: Twisted Fate (2014)_ where she plays the role of Ms. Cole, a bathroom attendant who provides spiritual advice to the film's main character; Bent(2014)_ where she plays psychiatrist Dr. Sarah Cavanaugh; Broken Shells(2014)_ where she plays the primary role of Mary Hughes, a woman suffering with Alzheimer's disease; she plays the role of Harlem Hollis in Into the Good Night (2014)_; and she was just casted for the role of Melba in the upcoming feature film, Devastation. Marcia has also done background work for television and film including being an extra for Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns television show, playing Alzheimer's patient, Mrs. Oglesby in the "Meet the Lovers" episode, which aired in December 2009. She's also been on The Rickey Smiley Show," "For Better or Worse," "Let's Stay Together," "Comeback Dad," and "My Other Mom." Marcia has also performed in a variety of stage productions with theater companies in Pittsburgh, PA: Hanover, NH; Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO. She's played dramatic roles in such plays as "A Raisin in the Sun" (played Ruth), "Steal Away" (played Jade), "For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Wasn't Enuf", (played the Lady in Green), "Day of Absence," (played the television reporter and phone operator), "Decisions, Dilemmas and Denials," and "Washington Heights."
