Jason Nicola

Jason Nicola is an award winning actor, producer, writer and director. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jason began acting in school plays. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Jason made his professional acting debut to critical acclaim on the New York stage in an adaptation of Kenneth Lonergan's "This is Our Youth." Jason made his feature film debut as the title role in Trexler, which he also wrote and directed. The film earned him the Audience Award for Best Newcomer at the Prize Indie International Film Festival. Following his propensity for smaller, offbeat projects, Jason starred in the romantic drama Ethereal Everlasting, for which he received a Reel Arts Award nomination in the category Best Actor - Drama. For his portrayal of a broken young man striving to find hope while lost between two worlds in Purgatorio, Jason won the Downtown Independent Critic's Choice Award for Outstanding Performance. Jason has also authored and illustrated a series of children's books and proudly serves as an ambassador for the UNICEF Tap Project, which aims to raise awareness and funds to improve access to safe and clean water for impoverished children worldwide.
