Shelly Antony is a Dora nominated Actor & Writer hailing from Scarborough, Ontario via Jaffna, Sri Lanka. He began his acting training at the University of Toronto and has an MFA from the New School for Drama. His career began in New York in such productions as 'Macbeth' and 'Blue Window by Craig Lucas. He is known in Toronto for his work on such critically acclaimed productions as 'Scarberia' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns', an adaptation of the International Bestseller by Khaled Hosseini. He is also a member of the Acting Company at the Stratford Festival. His screen work includes the HBO original show 'JETT' starring Carla Guigino and the short film 'Reach', directed by the acclaimed director Matt Huntley. He is especially proud of his work in 'A Gun & A Ring' which was nominated for many international prizes and selected to such esteemed film festivals such as the Shanghai International Film Festival. His short film 'A Friendly Chat', in which he is a writer, producer and star is due to begin filming in late September of 2020. While audiences can catch him in the Stratford Festival's 'Henry 8'.
