Janalyn Li Steele

Janalyn Li Steele is a screenwriter who has won first place in both the Fresh Voices and the Cinequest screenwriting competitions. She was recently a writers' assistant on the Freeform show, Good Trouble. Janalyn developed and sold a series to a Chinese production company for Youku. Janalyn was a 2017 writing Fellow for CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment), and is a mentee of Adele Lim (Crazy Rich Asians). She was a CBS Writers finalist twice. She also placed highly at Austin Film Festival, WeScreenplay, Scriptapalooza, and Screencraft. Janalyn has written, directed and produced three short films. In her free time, Janalyn enjoys learning facts about mermaids.
