Tavon Austin was a multidisciplinary studies major at West Virginia and member of the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll. As a senior, Austin was named Big 12 Conference co-Special Teams Player of the Year and was the recipient of the Paul Hornung Award, given to the most versatile player in the nation. The Rams executed a trade with the Buffalo Bills in which the team gave up their 16th, 46th, 78th and 222nd picks to get Austin at No. 8 in the 2013 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams (4/25/13). During his first season, Austin became the first player in NFL history with a 95-yard punt return for touchdown, 80-yard touchdown reception and 65-yard rushing score in the same season.
