Tamieka Briscoe, is writer based in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Washington D.C., Tamieka's works include her debut novel Like a Moth to a Flame along with numerous blogs and essays on love, dating and relationships for PULL Magazine. Her articles have been featured in publications such as The Baltimore Sun and The Gazette. While writing fiction and blogging have always been her passion, in 2013, Tamieka added filmmaking to her repertoire with a docudrama/comedy entitled, The Single Life: Dual Perspectives on Modern Dating. In 2014, Humility, a comedy she wrote was selected and staged as part of the Bowie State University, ten-minute play festival. A respected writer, Tamieka has served as a script consultant for a number of films and series produced for both web and network television development. Tamieka is an alum of Bowie State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Communications. She also holds a master's degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a proud single mother who draws motivation from showing her son and daughter that no dream is too big. She resides on the outskirts of Hollywood, where she is busy working on screenplays and numerous writing projects and heading a writer's group-Write Now, where she offers coaching services, support and networking opportunities for other aspiring writers.
