Dr. John F. Scamehorn spent four decades as an engineer before venturing into the entertainment field in his semi retirement. He received his BS and MS in chemical engineering at the University of Nebraska and his PhD in chemical engineering at the University of Texas. He worked in the chemical industry for nearly five years before joining the University of Oklahoma faculty in 1981, ultimately advancing to hold the Asahi Glass Chair in Chemical Engineering there. When he achieved emeritus professor status in 2007, he became a major supported of theatre activities at the university and the central Oklahoma region. He wrote and produced a play (Inside the Mind) in Norman, OK in 2014. He eventually plans to use this play as a template for a film. He started supporting movies as a silent producer through the film Posthuman in 2012 where he did his first cameo role. He has subsequently produced, executive produced and done cameo or featured extra roles in a series of local films. He devised the original story for his first movie which is his own initiative in summer of 2014 and co-wrote the screenplay. Pax Masculina is a science fiction, alternate history which will be a short film to be shot in August of 2015 with plans of expanding it into a feature length film. He will have a cameo role in the film.
