Sebastian Chan is an award-winning filmmaker from Canberra, Australia. His creative motto is Inspire, Create and Imagine Anything. His passion for storytelling is matched only by his love of the creative collaboration needed to tell a worthwhile story. Sebastian's practice covers writing through to directing, producing and distributing media content including short films, music videos and digital series. He has also recently ventured into long form with a TV/Film slate scheduled to begin in 2020. Sebastian graduated from the University of Canberra in 2015 with a Bachelor of Media Arts & Production. He has since gone on to earn an Advanced Diploma in Producing (Story, Audience, Finance) from AFTRS (Australian Film, Television & Radio School) and currently works as a freelance digital producer. Sebastian is passionate about growing the film industry in the ACT as demonstrated by his monthly commitment of overseeing the Canberra Screenwriters Group. An ambitious filmmaker, Sebastian has a growing list of accomplishments and accolades including his short film 'I Am Steve' (selected to screen on SBS and Foxtel), his short documentary 'Brothers In Alms' (Best Film/Best Director, Audience Choice Award - Lights! Canberra! Action! 2017) and more recently his short 'Bus Trip' which took out the 2018 Focus On Ability festival for 'Best Australian Film'. The prize included flights and four weeks accommodation in L.A to attend meetings, Australians In Film Gala Dinner, Access Media Awards, Universal Studios, CBS' The Neighborhood taping, the American Film Market and $5,000 worth of immigration support from Raynor & Associated. Sebastian is a highly efficient and creative individual determined to succeed in his chosen industry and he continues to prove his worth as an award-winning filmmaker. Sebastian enjoys conquering a challenge in everything he does and driving forward to new heights with each achievement. Revelling in the opportunity to collaborate with his peers, Sebastian holds dear the pillars of the visual medium: audience, technology and story.
