Lian Morrison was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Memorial University and in 2013 she graduated from The Prague Film School in the Czech Republic with a concentration in editing. In her career Lian has directed many pieces, including 2 award-winning documentaries, Flight of the Fisherman and Behind Banana Vacuum. She has also shot, directed and edited 6 short docs for CBC's Creator Network along with directing and editing the first and only Newfoundland episode of Canadian Screen Awards winning digital series, Canada's a Drag. She also owns and operates her own video production company, Tin Bird Productions for which she has directed, shot and edited videos for various commercial clients and organizations. Lian has also recently worked on television and feature films as a DIT in the camera department. Some of her recent work includes Son of a Critch, Astrid & Lily Save the World and Surreal Estate. She also had her first television documentary, Set in Motion, air on CBC in 2021.
