Julie is an award-winning Director with many of her short films screening at various film festivals across the UK and abroad. She has participated in many competitive educational program's such as Directors UK Lab 2012 and Odense TalentLab 2014, where she attended workshops with award winning Directors and Producers, as well as shadowing Colm McCarthy on season 4 of Black Mirror. In 2017 she spent over two weeks in Sicily partaking in the Terre Di Cinema's CineCampus where she wrote and directed a short film to be shot on 35mm film stock in one day, whilst learning from Oscar winning Cinematographers. She graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she specialized in Cinematography and has been a member of BAFTA Crew since 2016, within the camera department, which is responsible for her unique visual flair and confident shooting skills. Her second Short Film 'Behind The Screens' won Best Student Film at the Thurrock International Film Festival 2011 judged by 'The Walking Dead's Steven Yuen. Her Short Film 'White Light Co.' received a special mention at Virgin Media Shorts very last competition and was nominated for Best Sci-Fi at the Limelight Film Awards 2014. Julie is also a skilled Director of Photography, having worked on a range of projects, including Music Video's, Short Drama's, Supernatural web series and a Documentary Feature. She trained with John Rhodes BSC on the RED One and has expanded her knowledge shooting on numerous cameras such as the EPIC and Black Magic. After Graduating her first Camera job was assisting Oscar Winning Cinematographer Michael McDonough and has since shot a promo for the BBC and worked with numerous well-known TV Actors from shows such as 'Skins' and 'Doctor Who'.
