Ilyas Illy Adiris

Hello! Ilyas Adiris is a Somali-Canadian actor and producer. Born in the US, he moved to Toronto at a young age and found himself immersed in the stories of his community. His first shot in the film industry was in 2013, with a role in the award-winning film Troop 491. Since then, Ilyas has steadily been building his credits as an actor and producer, working on various projects in Toronto. Ilyas is determined to tell stories that have not been seen in the mainstream. He wants to show people that Somalis are more than just antagonists- specifically, one's typecast as pirates and terrorists. He wants to both portray and create roles that showcase Somali people in intricate and humanizing ways.
